Turning mirror is a commonly used component in optical mechanism.

A reflective film is coated on the optical grade reflective surface to reflect light beams or images.

The reflective surface and the base are at a specific angle (45 degrees for this product).

When the turning mirror base is fixed to the mechanism, the light beam or image is incident on the reflecting surface and deflected to a specific angle.

The reflective film can be a metal film or a dielectric film depending on the application or the applicable wavelength range.

Traditionally, turning mirrors are manufactured using a grinding and cutting process, which has the following practical disadvantages:

1. Sizes below centimeters are difficult to achieve

2. It is easy to produce arc edges.

3. Grinding and cutting operations take a long time

4. Most of them are made of glass, which has poor heat dissipation ability. When subjected to laser beams, they are easily damaged due to uneven heat dissipation.

This micro reflector (or turning mirror) has the following features:

- Sub-millimeter sizes.

- It is feasible for mass production, and the production cost is much better than the glass grinding process.

- Silicon substrate, better heat dissipation capability than glass.

- The center of gravity is close to the geometric center of gravity, which is helpful for the production of subsequent die bonders.

Specifications

The size of the micro-steering mirror needs to match the (laser) light source specifications. If you have application requirements, please contact our company.

The relevant size specification terms are explained as follows:

  • Mirror material: gold mirror, aluminum mirror, dielectric film reflector

  • Mirror height, MH ( Mirror Height )

  • Pick up platform width, PW ( Pick up Platform )

  • Mirror Step Height, SH ( mirror Step Height )

  • Mirror Width , MW
